Opps! New 2009 In-Colors Accidentially Revealed Early

 As I was reading my July/August Paper Crafts magazine, I saw a beautiful picture of three decorated balls sitting in a bowl. Looking closely, I noticed that the papers used looked very similar to Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Papers.

Reading the caption, I got excited! It reads "Patterned paper: (assorted patterns from Certainly Celery, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Merry Moments, Pumpkin Pie, Razzleberry Lemonade, So Saffron Designer Series collections) Stampin' Up!"

Then, I figured it was a submission that came in from another country Stampin' Up! is sold in, like the UK or Australia because we don't know or have any of the new 2009 In-Colors yet. Then, the other day, I received an update from Stampin' Up! that the magazine was published and mailed earlier than they'd hoped and that those are the NEW IN COLORS!!! (I'm sure there's two more coming, because there's always six!)

Scrapbooking your Ultrasound Pictures...Don't make the same mistake I did!

Ultrasound pictures are like a trophy of pregnancy...They resonate with women as something to be cherished and that memorable experience of seeing your little "peanut" for the first time. However, do you know how to scrapbook with them?

Unfortunately, they are not acid free. The inks will eventually fade and could even do damage to your scrapbook pages. What should you do instead of scrapbooking them directly onto your page? Digitally scan them into your computer and have a print made the next time you have pictures developed. That way, they'll be of scrapbooking quality!

Now...my problem is trying to remove and replace them in my son's scrapbook without doing any damage to the rest of the page. Ahhh...hindsight is 20/20.

 Recovering from my surgery was rough. However, it was a wonderful surprise to receive these wonderful cards in the mail from my friends and family!

My mom, Linda, sent me this card that she made using Just Buzzing By. Also on the card is an edge made with the Scallop Edge Punch and some 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in So Saffron. I love how the background coordinates to the flowers in the foreground.

One of my sweet customers in CT, Myrna, sent me this card. She used the Tea Party Designer Series Paper and a piece of Gingham Ribbon on the card! I just love this layout! I'm going to have to reuse it!

A friend from church, Jennie, made me this sweet card with her Darling Dots hostess set. I love how she used ribbons to make the bouquet of balloons. Jackson said to me "Mama, balloooooons!!!" He was very excited to see them. Also, Jennie brought my family a basket of muffins. Thanks, Jennie for all you do to make me smile!

Jennie's daughter, Laura, also made me a get well card. It was quite similar to Jennie's and absolutely adorable! Thank you, Laura, for being so thoughtful and spending time to make me this darling card! It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Finally, this is another card my mom, Linda, made for me. She used the Pretty Amazing stamp set. I love how she stamped the butterfly in blue on Certainly Celery cardstock, then cut it out. It looks great! I also like how she stamped the flowers on the Whisper White and layered the cut-out flowers on top. It adds a lot of dimension!

Again, a ginormous thank you to all of you for thinking of me and sending me your well wishes. Your support is truly appreciated by me and Brent.

We had lots of Fun at Connie's Workshop!

A great, big THANK YOU to my hostess, Connie from Friday night! I had a wonderful time stamping with Connie, her friends, and a couple of their elementary school-aged daughters!

These are the projects we made at Connie's workshop. This first one uses the Upsy Daisy stamp set and a technique called Ghosting.

With May being National Scrapbooking Month, I had to share a scrapbooking page with the ladies! Here's a 6X6" page that I made using textured cardstock, Urban Garden Designer Series Paper (which is buy three get one free through the end of May!), and my circle punches.

Notice that I placed my circles in a triangle? This draws the eye towards the point, right to my sweet Jackson's cute smiling face!

The final project we made was a tea bag holder that coordinated with the first card we made. This is the outside of the holder, complete with Miss Ella's belly band. (Opps! We must have switched at the party!)

This is the inside of the tea bag holder. I made it with a diagonal flap on the side. You could use the space on the Whisper White cardstock to leave a note for someone who's feeling under the weather.

Take Digital Pictures? Remember to do this!

Imagine, you have all of the most important pictures of your life...your wedding, the birth of your children, your child's first steps...and your computer's harddrive crashes. You lose everything.

While the technology of being in the digital age is a wonderful thing, you definitely need to back up! There's no guarentee that your computer will not be victim to a disasterous virus. (Trust me, we had one! It was awful!)

If you don't already, you should backup your pictures either on a web-based system (like Shutterfly or Kodak Gallery) or on an external hard drive. The web-based programs usually ask you for a fee or a minimum purchase. The external hard drives can cost anywhere between $60-$120 for a decent amount of data storage.

If you're a scrapbooker or just value your pictures, be sure to back up your pictures about every other month. Brent just did ours on Friday night! Have you backed up yours recently? If not, put it on your to-do list for this week! It'll give you peace of mind!

Working on Newsletter...a little under the Weather...

Hey, Stampaholics! I'm a little behind the past few days...I had minor, out-patient surgery yesterday and am still recovering. I have been crafting this weekend with my mom and have lots of pictures to post.
