Quick Tip #1

Have you ever used one of your BOLD image stamps (like Upsy Daisy or Ginormous Flowers) and the ink bubbled, leaving spotty (and unwanted) marks in your stamped image? Try this: before using your BOLD stamp, GENTLY rub the rubber with a sanding block until the shine is worn off the rubber. This removes the excess chemicals and adhesives from production off the rubber and allows the ink to adhere to it better...leaving you with a much clearer image. I did this with my new Upsy Daisy stamp and it's amazing what a difference it's made!

What to do with Decor Elements?

I love the new Decor Elements line! We offer many varying fonts, themes, and sayings! This is the MED sized "happiness" that I applied to the glass of a white picture frame. Instead of pictures, I mounted three pieces of Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. It's very simple but totally me!

With a toddler, decorating his wall above his crib is definitely a challenge. I don't want anything that could potentially fall off (like a shelf or picture), but I did want something there. I ordered "Jackson" in white to place on his wall and it came out adorable! He points to it in the morning and I tell him, "Yes, that spells your name. J-a-c-k-s-o-n." He giggles in joy. The best part about it is that we're renting, so its an easy way for us to personalize the walls without painting.

Dahlia Fold

After being challenged by Sharon for my business bootcamp that we just finished, I found this technique I had never tried before on SplitcoastStampers.com. It's called the Dahlia Fold. I think it's absolutely beautiful!

I enlisted the help of my wonderful husband, Brent, to decipher the instructions and we struggled. Then, I found a tutorial and it was so much easier! Basically, I punched eight Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, folded them, attached them to a circle punch, attached a jumbo eyelet in the center and used some Kiwi Kiss cardstock for the stem and leaf of my flower. Pretty!

Boho Backgrounds Sampler

I have absolutely fallen in love with the Boho Backgrounds set! Here are a few samples of projects I've made with this set and the Scallop Circle punch.

All of these samples use the retired In Colors, but you could always subsitute any color combination you like!

This is a 6X6 scrapbook page for my Brag Book. I used Soft Sky as my base cardstock, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, and a strip of Designer Series Paper. I stamped the flowers from Boho Backgrounds along the bottom of the page with Soft Sky ink for a tone-on-tone look.

This is a cute 3X3 gift tag on Soft Sky cardstock. Again, I stamped the flowers in Soft Sky ink, layered a 1/4" strip of Chocolate Chip, and then layered my scallop circle punched image (on Pumpkin Pie cardstock) over it with a Stampin' Dimensional. I finished it off with a piece of Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. Ready for any gift!

This is a Ghiradelli Chocolate Square holder that would make a wonderful party favor! (Actually, when I was making these in Starbucks, a man walked up to me and said they were gorgeous wedding favors, even though I was just making them to give out as treats!) I used Whisper White carstock for the outside, stamped the flowers on it in Soft Sky, layered Soft Sky over Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, and put my scallop circle punched image on top. Here's a look of it from the inside too.

Finally, this is a darling layout that I CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) from the Spring/Summer Collection Idea Book & Catalog. I stamped the small circles in Chocolate Chip on the card base for a tone-on-tone look. Then, I used my Chocolate Chip marker to ink up "you make me happy" while omitting all of the other images and stamped it onto the Soft Sky cardstock. I tore the cardstock, layered Wild Wasabi and the scallop circle punched image. Finally, I added red gingham ribbon around the Soft Sky.
